Fadi Fathallah

Professor and Graduate Program Chair Fadi Fathallah (Biological and Agricultural Engineering) has been appointed the UC Davis Study Abroad faculty director for the UC Education Abroad Program and Independent Programs. He received a Ph.D. in Industrial Systems Engineering from Ohio State University.

Nikki Grey Rutamu

Nikki Grey Rutamu is the new Assistant Director of the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program. Her role involves advising the Fellows on creating program plans, developing professional development and training activities, and networking on campus, in the community, and with industry experts . She received her Bachelor of Arts in American Studies from UC Davis and a Master of Public Health from Loma Linda University.  

Toru Kasuga

Toru Kasuga, an administrator from University of the Ryukyus in Okinawa, Japan is the 2013-2014 Long-term Educational Administration Program (LEAP) professional staff intern. This is UOIP’s 10th LEAP intern since 2001. The program is funded by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sport, Science, and Technology (MEXT). The LEAP program offers specially selected Japanese higher education staff the opportunity to come to the United States to improve their English skills, learn about the U.S. higher education system, and complete an internship in an international programs office.

University Outreach and International Programs, Vice Provost’s Office

William Lacy has announced that he will be stepping down from the Vice Provost position in July 2014 and will be returning to the faculty. A national search to fill his position will be held. As announced by Provost Ralph Hexter, University Outreach and International Programs will be revising their mission to focus entirely on international initiatives. More on these changes will be covered in the Spring 2014 issue of Internationally Engaged.
