Overview

The LEAP program was established in 1997. The program is funded by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT) and is administered by The Institute for Japan International Practical Training, and Cultural Vistas. The LEAP program offers specially selected Japanese higher education staff the opportunity to come to the United States to improve their English skills, learn about the U.S. higher education system, and complete an internship in an international programs office.
