Four faculty and staff members spanning four UC Davis colleges, schools, and units were honored by Chancellor Gary S. May as Chancellor’s Awards for International Engagement recipients. One member of the Academic Senate and one member of the Academic Federation received the Academic Senate’s Excellence in Teaching in Study Abroad Awards. This year’s recipients of various Global Affairs grant and development programs were also announced, including the inaugural Grants for Advancing Sustainable Development Goals.
Global Affairs partners with UC Davis faculty to take on global innovative research, service, and engagement projects. The interdisciplinary projects help develop new partnerships, long-term collaborations, and opportunities to advance the health for people, animals, and the planet.
For the third year, UC Davis honored those on campus advancing the research, teaching, and service mission of UC Davis through their international engagement with Chancellor’s Awards for International Engagement. The annual reception and awards ceremony also featured the announcement of the Academic Senate’s inaugural Excellence in Teaching in Study Abroad Awards for Academic Senate and Academic Federation members—which were followed by recognition of this year’s recipients of various Global Affairs grant and development programs.
Plant Sciences distinguished professor Paul Gepts was one of three recipients of the 2018 Chancellor’s Award for International Engagement at UC Davis. At a reception on March 2, Gepts received the award from UC Davis Chancellor Gary May.
Rosalind Christian has been selected as the staff awardee of the 2018 Chancellor’s Award for International Engagement. She was presented with the award at the UC Davis Global Affairs’ annual International Connections Reception on March 2.
