Dr. Tung Do is a lecturer and researcher at Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry (TUAF), Vietnam. As a member of the Tay ethnic minority, he understands the challenges faced by marginalized communities, especially in rural and mountainous regions where agriculture is the foundation of livelihoods. Vietnam’s agriculture sector confronts major issues, including climate change, resource constraints, and food security.

With over a decade of experience in agricultural extension, research, and teaching, Dr. Tung focuses on drought-resistant crops, sustainable farming, and climate adaptation. As Deputy Head of Science and International Affairs at the Center of Crop Research for Adaptation to Climate Change (CRCC) - TUAF, he has led projects empowering ethnic minority farmers with knowledge and technology to enhance resilience.

The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship is a transformative milestone, enabling Dr. Tung to explore U.S. agricultural practices, refine leadership and technical skills, and engage in cross-cultural collaborations. Immersed in advanced farming technologies, precision agriculture, and sustainability strategies, he aims to bring valuable insights back to Vietnam. His mission is to strengthen teaching, enhance institutional capacity, and promote sustainable agricultural development, ensuring that vulnerable farming communities can thrive despite climate challenges.
