Hosting Visitors from around the World
UC Davis welcomes international delegations to the campus. Visitors must follow all current campus, local, state, and national public health guidelines at the time of their visit. If your delegation would like to schedule in-person meetings, please fill out our Visitor Request Form. Kindly note that all visitor requests must be submitted at least six weeks prior to the planned visit to be given full consideration. Please contact Sarah Olson, Director of Global Partnerships, with any questions (sadolson@ucdavis.edu).
UC Davis Global Affairs welcomes senior‑level international delegations to engage with UC Davis on strategic collaboration, academic exchange and research partnership opportunities. We coordinate high‑impact visits that align with campus priorities and connect delegations with the right leaders, faculty and units.
Visitor Request Guidelines
To ensure the best possible experience and alignment with campus priorities, please review before submitting a request:
- Advance notice. Submit your request at least six weeks before the proposed visit date.
- Purpose and alignment. Delegations must have a clearly defined purpose aligned with UC Davis global engagement priorities. We prioritize requests that aim to:
- Explore or strengthen institutional partnerships
- Advance faculty or research collaboration
- Support international education initiatives
- Engage with UC Davis leadership or other key stakeholders
- Campus unit engagement. Visits are most successful when a UC Davis faculty member, school/college, department or unit expresses interest in meeting with the delegation. We recommend contacting the specific UC Davis individual or unit in advance to verify interest before submitting a request.
- Capacity limitations. All visits are subject to availability of time and resources across campus. We may be unable to accommodate visits that are purely exploratory or primarily informational without a defined goal for collaboration or engagement.
- Compliance and review. All delegations must follow current UC Davis public health guidelines and applicable local, state and national laws, as well as UC and U.S. policies. All visitors are subject to a restricted‑party screening prior to approval.
*Please note, all travel, lodging, meals and incidentals are the responsibility of the visiting delegation.
Delegation Composition
To be eligible for support from Global Affairs, delegations should consist of senior‑level representatives, such as university presidents, vice presidents, provosts, deans, government officials, or executives from research institutes, foundations or funding agencies.
Visits that do not meet the above criteria (for example, visits involving individual faculty members or other university officials) should be coordinated directly by the relevant UC Davis school/college, department, or unit and are not managed through this delegation request process.
What to Include in Your Request
Providing the following details helps us design a productive visit:
- Delegation details. Institution, country, number of participants, names/titles/roles
- Proposed schedule. Preferred dates and times of arrival and departure
- Objectives. Key topics of interest and desired outcomes
- Meeting preferences. UC Davis units, programs or faculty you hope to meet
- Language. English proficiency and/or interpreter availability
- Logistics. Transportation plans to and from campus
How to Request a Visit
- Review the guidelines above to confirm eligibility and alignment.
- Identify UC Davis units or individuals you wish to engage and confirm interest where possible.
- Submit the Visitor Request Form at least six weeks before the proposed date.
Next Steps After Submission
Submitting the visitor request form does not guarantee that we will be able to host your delegation. Each request is carefully reviewed by the Global Partnerships team for alignment with university priorities, demonstrated campus interest, and the availability of relevant stakeholders. We may request a virtual meeting to further discuss the goals of the visit and assess feasibility. A formal notification of the decision to accept or decline the visit will be sent to the primary contact listed on the form.
If you have questions or need assistance before submitting your request, contact Sarah Olson, Director of Global Partnerships, at sadolson@ucdavis.edu.
