Bio

Stanley Appiah is an Oil & Gas professional with over seven years experience in the energy sector. He has developed skills in planning, strategy, business development and negotiation of energy agreements. Stanley is a Planning Officer who currently serves as Acting Manager of Gas for Volta River Authority, the state-owned power utility. He focuses on securing and managing natural gas supplies for electricity generation in Ghana. Stanley holds a Master of Science degree in International Oil & Gas Management from the Center for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law & Policy (CEPMLP), University of Dundee, UK. In the Oil & Gas sector, Stanley focused on business management, financial project analysis and economic and law-based policy studies. He is highly motivated and driven by a commitment to contribute towards cost-effective and efficient electricity generation and supply. Stanley's passion for public service issues includes the access, affordability, equity and the creation of safety nets for the vulnerable in the energy sector. Upon successful completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Stanley hopes to continue his work in the energy sector with a greater focus on efficiency across the energy value chain.
