Dr. Badri holds a PhD in Geography of Energy, a Master of Science in Environmental Studies, and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. In her current position at AUW, she has over 25 years of academic and professional experience in environmental studies, with a special focus on sustainable energy advocacy, through her role in teaching and research. As part of AUW’s community outreach activities, she has been involved in facilitating activities on environmental governance, rural extension and development, technology transfer, peace and post-conflict development, gender equality and women’s development. As a Humphrey Fellow, Dr. Badri is interested in improving her understanding of the political, economic and social elements of local, state, and federal energy utilities, focusing on policy-making and lobbying.
