Committed to educating the next generation of problem solvers and change makers, UC Davis is working towards Global Education for All—a goal aiming to provide 100% of our undergraduate, graduate, and professional students with global learning opportunities that change their lives and our world. Here are some ways students engaged in remote global learning this summer.

While a majority of students spend the entirety of their college careers in Davis, many choose to participate in programs abroad and spend a duration of time learning in a new location. Today, off-campus programs have switched to a new reality of remote functioning during a pandemic to create the same impactful experience from the comfort of each student’s bedroom.

UC Davis’ Seminar Abroad in Nepal recently earned “highly commended” status in the category of Progressive Education Delivery, as judged by Professionals in International Education, or PIE, an independent media, recruitment and events company.

For the second time in the past three years, UC Davis has been recognized as a top producer of Gilman Scholars for the 2018–19 academic year—with the university producing the third highest number of Gilman Scholars, at 51, among all U.S. universities with over 15,000 undergraduates.

The University of California, Davis, and two other campuses have been distinguished above all others in the nation for their diversity and internationalization, in rankings released today (May 20).

The UC Davis Global Learning Hub announced the cancellation of Spring Quarter and Summer Session study abroad programs, but it has yet to decide the fate of Fall Quarter programs.

Despite travel and physical distance restrictions implemented during this coronavirus pandemic, opportunities to take part in global learning this summer still abound, and the Global Learning Hub within Global Affairs at UC Davis is here to help.

UC Davis has been named one of only four U.S. universities to receive NAFSA’s 2020 Senator Paul Simon Award for Comprehensive Campus Internationalization. This honor is bestowed annually to leading higher education institutions for excellence in internationalization efforts—both on campus and across the world.

From his first days at UC Davis, Adrian Gonzales '20 knew he wanted to study abroad. This past summer, his dream became reality as he took his education across the pond, traveling to the United Kingdom to study organizational management amidst the international business world.

​​​​​​​From Madrid’s Instituto Internacional to the Center for Mind and Brain at UC Davis, cognitive science major Jorge Murillo has been all about experiential and empirical research. And now he’s embarking on a fellowship at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to explore that brain connection.
