Bio

Adrien Rusch is an ecologist studying how environmental change influences biodiversity and ecosystem functioning in agricultural landscapes. His research focuses on the effects of land-use change and farming practices on multitrophic biodiversity and ecosystem services, with particular emphasis on natural pest control and other regulating services. Drawing on approaches from food-web ecology, community ecology, and landscape ecology, he investigates the responses of biodiversity to environmental changes and the mechanisms linking biodiversity to ecosystem functioning. The applied objective of his work is to generate knowledge that supports the design of multifunctional agricultural landscapes that optimize the delivery of ecosystem services while conserving biodiversity and maintaining agricultural productivity. Adrien Rusch is currently a Research Director at INRAE (UMR SAVE, Bordeaux).
