About Zahid Pervez

Zahid Pervez is a career civil servant with over 15 years of experience in the Pakistan Administrative Service. He has served in diverse fields, staff and secretariat roles across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab provinces, navigating the complexities of governance, development, and reform at both local and provincial levels. These experiences have shaped his understanding of how strong institutions and responsive policies can transform communities, particularly those vulnerable to inequality and environmental challenges.

A dedicated public policy practitioner, Zahid holds a Master’s degree in English from the University of the Punjab, Lahore, and a Master’s in Governance, Development, and Public Policy from the Institute of Development Studies, University of Sussex, UK as a Chevening Scholar. His academic and professional journey reflects a commitment to evidence-based policymaking, institutional strengthening, and sustainable development.

Zahid is especially passionate about climate change, sustainable agriculture, environmental policy, rural development, urban regeneration. As a Hubert H. Humphrey Fellow at the University of California, Davis, he aims to deepen his expertise to address Pakistan’s climate vulnerabilities and recurrent natural disasters. Drawing on his extensive administrative experience, he aspires to apply systemic thinking to overcome governance, technological, and financial barriers. Guided by a belief in collaboration and innovation, Zahid is committed to driving transformative solutions that strengthen resilience in Pakistan and contribute to the global pursuit of sustainable and inclusive development.
