About Seungcheol Shin

Seungcheol Shin is from South Korea and holds a bachelor's degree in Public Administration from the University of Chungnam, South Korea.
He has been the Deputy Director of the Climate Adaptation Division at the Ministry of Environment in South Korea for more than 14 years. In his role, he spearheads the development of Climate Crisis Adaptation policies and reviews their implementation across various ministries. Currently, he monitors and evaluates the National Climate Change Adaptation Plans, and provides regular reports to the 2050 Carbon Neutrality and Green Growth Commission. He finds great satisfaction in this work because he believes it can positively impact people's lives by addressing the challenges posed by the climate crisis, and proactive measures are essential to ensure future generations inherit a sustainable environment.
During the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship program, Mr. Shin aims to improve his conversational skills with Americans and hopes to explore the similarities and differences between South Korea's National Climate Change Adaptation Plans and that of the USA.
