Janvier Kabananiye has more than six years of experience in the energy development sector, focusing on energy policy and climate change resilience. Currently, Janvier is a Senior Engineer in charge of Electricity Transmission and Distribution, where he focused on the implementation of the rural electrification plan and regional power grid interconnection. Janvier holds a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Oklahoma Christian University, USA. He focused on power system analysis and systems management. Janvier is driven by his commitment to community development through access to basic energy supply and basic infrastructure. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Janvier plans to continue his work in initiating programs and contribute in developing policies and strategies concerning national infrastructure. He is aiming at increasing access to affordable energy, water and sanitation, and transport infrastructure and related services for the population.
