Bio

Tamba Sangbah has six years of experience as a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of Sierra Leone. He is an associate partner with Kanu & Associates and the assistant director for environmental compliance and enforcement at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in Sierra Leone. where he ensures compliance and enforcement of environmental laws and related regulations. He has successfully prosecuted 85 environmental offenses in the past two years, helped draft the 2019 amendment to the EPA Act, advocated for the establishment of the Environmental Court, trained judges in environmental law, and conducted the First National Environmental Conference. Tamba holds a master's degree in Environmental Law and Policy with a concentration in International Commercial Law from the University of Kent, and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Sierra Leone. On completing the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, Tamba intends to promote research for the protection and sustainable use of the environment, improve the environmental governance regime to meet international best practices, and advise the government on sound environmental practices that ensure achievement of Cluster 7 of the Midterm National Development Plan.
