Bio

K. Tendra Tenwah-Gweh has more than nine years of experience in primary healthcare service delivery. She supported the Liberian government's transition from direct non-governmental organization service delivery to provision of health services by county health teams. She collaborated with an in-country team to design, develop, and strengthen county management capacity; to improve health system performance; to negotiate contracts; and to manage funds from the U.S. Agency for International Development, Pool Fund, and World Bank. She also led the first-ever health pay survey and study with more than 8,000 health workers and support staff, resulting in the harmonization of the payment system for health workers. She has been monitoring and measuring system performance and development of action plans. With a master's degree in Public Health, she serves as interim focal point for Ebola response in Liberia. She is also the founder of the Future Development Institute, ensuring that all individuals reach their full potential. The institute is collaborating with SHE-CAN (Supporting Her Education Changes a Nation), a U.S.-based institution that helps young women obtain full scholarships to universities in the United States so they can become global leaders.
