About Begaim Alipova

Begaim Alipova served as the Head of the Environmental Quality Monitoring Department at the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Kyrgyzstan. With a master’s degree in environmental engineering, she is currently pursuing a Ph.D. focused on urban air quality and its geoecological impacts. Begaim was a member of the Interagency Commission for Air Quality Improvement in Bishkek and the Intersectoral Commission for the Development and Implementation of the National Air Quality Index in Kyrgyzstan. She actively collaborates with international organizations, promoting global environmental best practices. Recently, she was invited by the Environmental Protection Agency to present on Kyrgyzstan’s State Policy to Reduce Air Pollution. As a Hubert H. Humphrey Fellow at UC Davis, she intends to study global practices in air quality improvement and the impact of climate change.
