Moshood Jeffrey Ogunwoye is a geologist and public health professional focused on engineering technical and social solutions to sustainable water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) and water security in Africa. He holds a bachelor's degree in Geology and a master's degree in Public Health. He is currently the infrastructure program manager for an integrated WASH and shelter program with the Catholic Relief Services Nigeria Country Program, which supports displaced populations in northeast Nigeria. He is passionate about the role of leadership in achieving a water-secure Africa; through grassroots organizations such as the Centre for Water and Environment Development, Kaduna, he mentors young people within and interested in entering WASH and related sectors. Having observed that women and girls are most affected by the limitations and challenges emanating from poor access to WASH, he encourages them to partake in WASH technical and related sectors. After completing the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, Moshood plans to increase collaboration with public, private, civil society, international, and community-level partners. He believes that through such partnerships, WASH and water security-related progress can be accelerated in Nigeria and across Africa.
