"Under US President Barak Obama’s Young African Leaders Initiative, 25 Africans leaders will head to the University of California, Davis for the first and only energy-themed institute offered through the Mandela Washington Fellowship.
The fellowship is the flagship of the Young African Leaders Initiative.
At UC Davis’ Specialized Institute on Energy: Pathways to Zero-Net Energy, the fellows will experience a living lab for energy efficiency which is ranked third in the world by the GreenMetric World University Ranking. It is also home to West Village, the largest planned zero-net energy community in the US; the Honda Smart Home, showcasing technologies that enable zero-net energy living; and the largest solar power plant at an American university."
