Brazilian high schoolers come to UCD to learn farming solutions

This summer, the UC Davis D-Lab offered a week-long, intensive design class to a group of Brazilian high school students as part of the International Development Innovation Network. Through this course, students learned the fundamentals of design by working with real clients to provide solutions with social and environmental impact.

UC Davis Students Recognized as UN Millennium Fellows

Millennium Fellows have been selected on just 30 campuses across 13 nations from every region of the globe. As fellows, UC Davis students receive training, recognition, and virtual linkage with fellows and universities around the world from August through November—in support of making the UN Sustainable Development Goals a reality.

Lessons on Culturally Competent Leadership

In July 2018, three UC Davis undergraduates packed their bags for Sydney to attend the Association of Pacific Rim Universities 2018 Undergraduate Leadership Program. Since 1997, the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU) has linked knowledge, research power, and policy by connecting leading Asia-Pacific universities to real-world problem solvers.

Recent Grad Documenting Mandela Fellows Visit

Tene Goodwin, who graduated from the UC Davis College of Letters and Science this spring with a degree in economics and minor in professional writing, started immediately using her educational and international background by documenting the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders visit to UC Davis.

UC Davis Honors International Community at Graduation Celebration

To give guests—ranging from family, friends, and colleagues to academic advisors, local officials, and members of the UC Davis Police Department—greater insight into international student experiences and perspectives, two graduates shared their stories. Titcho Farima Kone Kito of Burkina Faso spoke on behalf of the undergraduate class and Zidong Li of China represented graduate students.
