Keynoter Named for International Research Conference

"Global Affairs announced the keynote speaker for its 2018 International Research Conference at UC Davis in September: Mills College President Elizabeth L. Hillman, addressing the topic of sexual harassment of women in academia.

In particular, Hillman will discuss “Sexual Harassment of Women: Climate, Culture and Consequences in Academic Sciences, Engineering and Medicine,” a recently released, consensus report from the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine, and the report’s implications pertaining to the conference theme, “Innovation Within Changing Political and Research Environments.”

Hillman, a scholar of history and law who speaks and publishes frequently on issues of sexual violence and gender equity, contributed to the report as a member of the academies’ Committee on Impacts of Sexual Harassment in Academia."
