Pam Ronald Returns to Sweden for Honorary Doctorate

Pam Ronald, a distinguished professor in the Department of Plant Pathology, will return to Sweden to receive an appointment as an honorary doctor of the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, more than 30 years after receiving her first degree in Sweden, a Master of Science in physiological botany from Uppsala.

A UC Davis team of agricultural economists is testing whether insured seeds can increase food security for farmers who regularly risk losing crops to extreme weather. In Mozambique, this includes flooding from a rare but catastrophic cyclone like Idai in 2019 but is more likely to be extreme drought that can strike in any year.

Bringing the Best and Brightest: Chancellor’s Awardee Acknowledged for Helping International Scholars Come to UC Davis

One of the honorees this year was Jennifer Aten, a human resources analyst in the Department of Neurology at UC Davis Health. She was nominated by the international scholar services team working within Services for International Students and Scholars (SISS) for her exemplary service and tremendous impact on our international scholar community, as well as the campus community.
