Field: Obstetrics and gynecology
Seeing people struggle to get primary healthcare and quality healthcare because they are poor. Inequality amongst the population, especially women.
What drew you to your professional field?
I was taught to serve and to take care of others at a very young age. As an adult, I've always felt like that's what gives me a purpose, and I like helping people in need.
What is something from your country that you would like to share with the UC Davis community?
The Democratic Republic of Congo has 250 ethnic groups and approximately 242 languages. We have four national languages which are Kikongo, Tshiluba, Swahili and Lingala, and our official language is French. The culture of my country reflects the diversity of its numerous ethnic groups and their different ways of life throughout the country.
How would you like to engage with UC Davis and the community here?
I would like to engage with the community through cultural events and public service.
