UC Davis Named Top Producer of Gilman Scholars

For the second time in the past three years, UC Davis has been recognized as a top producer of Gilman Scholars for the 2018–19 academic year—with the university producing the third highest number of Gilman Scholars, at 51, among all U.S. universities with over 15,000 undergraduates.

Global Aggies: Thinking Globally and Acting Locally During COVID-19

When the Yolo Food Bank began running a new delivery service to meet the increased need for food in Davis and its surrounding communities in Yolo County during the COVID-19 pandemic, UC Davis delivered volunteers, including staff members, undergraduate students, and visiting Hubert H. Humphrey Fellows Issam Chariag of Tunisia, Fabrice Inkonkoy of the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Zuomei Ning of China.

Fall Remote Internship Opportunity: Global Centers, Latin America and Caribbean

The Global Center for Latin America and Caribbean Intern will work closely with the Faculty Director and with the Global Centers team in Global Affairs to support three main areas of work: Information Sharing and Coordination on Campus and in the Region; Facilitating Student and Faculty Opportunities with the Region; Outreach to Develop Partnerships, Collaborations, and Dialogue.

Collaborative and International UC Davis Project Awarded U21’s New Global Education Enhancement Fund

UC Davis is the lead institution on a global classroom pilot project, partnering with Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico and Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China to create a framework for teaching the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) using a global classroom model that has been developed and utilized by Tecnológico de Monterrey and will be enhanced by UC Davis and Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

Thanks to her experiences growing up in Taiwan, immigrating to the U.S., interning with the US Environmental Protection Agency via the UC Davis Washington Program, and studying environmental science in three countries, ESM major Annie Chen is ready to take on the world.

World Educational Leaders Discuss Pandemic, Future of International Ed

Perspectives from around the world on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the future of international education will meet in an online series of public conversations with distinguished university chancellors and presidents beginning June 18. Co-hosted by the Institute of International Education, or IIE, and the University of California, Davis, the live conversations will explore the consequences of COVID-19 and what they mean for global engagement and the future of both higher and international education this year and beyond.
