Coalition of Nutrition Leaders Calls for Global Scale-Up of a Cost-Effective Intervention Developed at UC Davis that Prevents Child Malnutrition and Mortality

Several UC Davis Institute of Global Nutrition (IGN) experts joined in a coalition to recommend scaling-up provision of a novel fortified food-based supplement to prevent child malnutrition and mortality among vulnerable children 6–23 months of age. Four faculty and staff members from UC Davis are being recognized for their outstanding global engagement work with two key awards: the Chancellor’s Awards for International Engagement and the Excellence in Teaching of Study Abroad Awards. These awards recognize the outstanding work of UC Davis faculty and staff in international education, research and service.

APRU, UC Davis and Universiti Malaya Launch Third Cohort of Asia Pacific Women in Leadership Mentoring Program

The University of California, Davis, the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU) and Universiti Malaya launched the third cohort of the Asia Pacific Women in Leadership (APWiL) Mentoring Program. The third cohort has 94 participants, consisting of 47 mentoring pairs that represent 24 APRU member institutions (out of 61 total member institutions). Of these 24 institutions, seven have participated in all three cohorts, 12 have participated in two cohorts and five are newcomers this year.

The Association for Women in Slavic Studies Recognizes Dr. Joanna Regulska with the 2022 Outstanding Achievement Award

On November 11, 2022, the Association for Women in Slavic Studies (AWSS) awarded Dr. Joanna Regulska, professor of gender, sexuality and women’s studies, and vice provost and dean of UC Davis Global Affairs, with the 2022 Outstanding Achievement Award for her exceptional career in Slavic, East European and Eurasian women’s and gender studies and her outstanding service as a mentor to women students and colleagues.
