Ambassador Jeffrey Bleich to Speak at International Graduation Celebration

Ambassador Jeffrey Bleich, a lawyer, diplomat, and educator who currently serves as a special master in federal multi-district litigation and as Chair of the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board, will be the keynote speaker for the 2019 International Graduation Celebration at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at the Activities and Recreation Center (ARC) Pavilion.

As we continue to expand the global reach of UC Davis and internationalize our campus, we also have had to create new procedures and policies: 1. new international agreement procedures, reviewed by the Academic Senate, to streamline the process of partnering with international institutions and 2. a new international travel policy to ensure trip registration and safety.

Michelle Bachelet, president of Chile, Linda P.B. Katehi, chancellor of the University of California, Davis, and U.S. Ambassador Michael A. Hammer opened the UC Davis-Chile Life Sciences Innovation Center in Santiago, Chile. The center’s long-term goal is to support research, development and economic competitiveness in Chile and California with a focus on the agricultural industry, including plant breeding, postharvest and climate-change technologies
