The University of California, Davis, has been named one of the top producers of U.S. Fulbright students for 2018-19, according to the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.

Students from historically underrepresented groups — African American, Native American and Chicano/Latino — represented 32.6 percent of both the entering class and all undergraduates who are residents of the United States.

The UC Davis Global Centers initiative— which aims to leverage campus strengths and expand mutually-beneficial partnerships in regions around the world—is set to move forward with the appointment of Lovell “Tu” Jarvis as the Faculty Director of Global Centers for Latin America and the Caribbean. Jarvis will bring strategic leadership to the development the first UC Davis Global Center, building on existing partnerships and linkages in the region.

As announced by UC Davis, both the Davis and Sacramento campuses are closed Monday, Nov. 19 through the Thanksgiving break. The campuses will reopen and classes will resume on Monday, Nov. 26.

At UC Davis, Services for International Students and Scholars (SISS) processes and provides support to these individuals, over 8,000 of whom fall under the regulations of the Department of Homeland Security’s Student and Exchange Visitor Program.

Once again, the University of California, Davis, has been recognized among the top universities in the nation by Washington Monthly magazine in its September/October issue, clocking in at No. 10 among the 316 public and private universities ranked.

A UC Davis delegation led by Chancellor Gary S. May is in Mexico this week for talks with government, university and industry leaders in three states about building partnerships with UC Davis faculty and academic units.

As we continue to expand the global reach of UC Davis and internationalize our campus, we also have had to create new procedures and policies: 1. new international agreement procedures, reviewed by the Academic Senate, to streamline the process of partnering with international institutions and 2. a new international travel policy to ensure trip registration and safety.

Universitas 21 announces the University of California, Davis, as a new member of its leading global network of research-intensive universities. UC Davis becomes the twenty-seventh member of the network and the third member from the United States.

Representing an international network of universities, Universitas 21 announced that UC Davis has become a member institution and joins other universities committed to internationalization and multinational collaboration.
