The Global Education for All Fellowship is a campuswide student committee created to further develop and implement Global Education for All—a goal aiming to provide 100% of UC Davis undergraduate, graduate, and professional students with global learning opportunities.

As mayor of the city of Davis from 2016 through 2018, Robb Davis was tasked with guiding the city through a divisive and turbulent time in national politics that at times played out locally. As mayor, Davis approached that challenge by trying to “help people work together to solve problems,” he said. It’s a common thread that runs through his new work at UC Davis.

Global Affairs has launched the Global Connections Database, bringing together institutional partnerships and faculty global connections in a comprehensive and searchable database.

In recent weeks and days, we have seen increased discussions and gatherings related to the protests in Hong Kong on our campus. As stated in our campus Principles of Community, “we affirm the right of freedom of expression within our community.” We fully support the open exchange of ideas and expression of perspectives. We are proud that UC Davis is a global campus, with a diverse community of people coming from many different backgrounds and countries, having many different identities, experiences, and perspectives.

As the campuswide Global Strategic Planning Committee develops UC Davis' first comprehensive Global Strategic Plan, the entire campus community is invited to submit ideas and strategies related to the many global elements within the goals of “To Boldly Go” through a webform by November 1, 2019.

Where can you find a top-tier, sustainability-focused agricultural school, located in a college town near a famous wine-growing region? The answer appears obvious, but there’s another correct response found a hemisphere away, in Talca, Chile – home of the Universidad de Talca. Because this international city and university already share many similarities with the City of Davis and UC Davis, learning about the unique approaches each takes on issues related to sustainability become especially relevant according to the Universidad de Talca’s Sustainability Manager and self-proclaimed “Biggest Fan of Davis,” Pablo Yáñez, after a recent trip.
