Bipin Kumar was awarded a Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, India in 2013. The research work of Dr. Bipin Kumar focuses on fibrous materials especially on compression system (bandage, stocking, etc.) through multi-disciplinary approaches. He is associated with an international platform namely International Compression Club (ICC) to work together with the experts from the medical field and the industry from all over the world for the improvement of management of compression therapy and developing internationally accepted regulations and guidelines. To further continue research, he joined as a postdoctoral research at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong where he explored the potential of shape memory textiles for smart compression management.

He has been awarded for 2014-2015 Fulbright-Nehru Research Fellowship Program via The United States – India Educational Foundation (USIEF) to work at The University of California, Davis as a Postdoctoral Fellow. He will be doing pioneer cutting-edge research, providing further improvement and technological advancement for compression system. The main goal is to bridge the gap of textile core knowledge in other domains to promote researchers from different backgrounds to work on a common platform for the bright future prospects for the further growth of venous management.
