Ikechukwu Iwuala is an environmental, social, and governance professional working for Nigeria's National Oil Company (NNPC). He has seven years of experience in environmental protection and operations and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Applied Microbiology from Nnamdi Azikiwe University and a master’s degree in Environmental Quality Management from the University of Benin. Ikechukwu believes that the development of a robust public sector led by ethical professionals, competent in policy making and regulatory oversight is critical for the continent. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Ikechukwu plans to improve public sector productivity through his work at the NNPC and develop policies and interventions that advance the livelihoods of ordinary people in the Niger Delta region.
