Steve Kabore has over seven years of experience in environmental engineering serving both rural and urban communities. Currently, Steve is a technical advisor at Save the Children in Burkina Faso, where he monitors and evaluates water, sanitation, nutrition, and gender-based violence programs. He also conducts research aimed at generating environmental solutions for African cities and towns. Steve holds a doctorate in Environmental Engineering from the University of Hokkaido in Japan, where he studied the reuse of sanitation products to help improve agricultural outcomes for rural farmers in low-income countries. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Steve plans to continue his research, and work with university students to help pilot solutions that can lead to innovative and sustainable models for improving waste management and rural farming in Burkina Faso.
