Tracy Koske has over seven years of experience in relationship building, operations management, project implementation and policy analysis. Currently, she is the policy officer at Uthabiti Africa, focusing on policy and regulatory reforms. She is responsible for events management and the development and implementation of early years education and childcare policies and regulations in the counties. Through her organization, she has supported three counties in the development of bills and regulations to operationalize early years education and childcare acts in the counties. She has also supported the induction of governance structures to oversee early years education and ehildcare in three more counties.

Tracy holds a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Eldoret, a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Nairobi and a certificate in public policy analysis from London School of Economics and Political Science. She speaks fluent English and Swahili and basic French. Tracy is committed to improving access to quality early years education and childcare in Kenya through coordination between stakeholders such as government, parents, communities, donors and civil society organizations to ensure that no child will be left behind. She volunteers with Watoto Wasome Trust to improve the literacy levels of children in Kiambu County. She also currently serves as an advisory board member for The Shima Foundation.

Tracy believes in education as an equalizer and strives to ensure that access to quality and affordable education is achieved. After completing the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, Tracy plans to continue her work to improve access to quality early years education and childcare and support governments in sub-Saharan Africa to implement existing policies and guidelines. She hopes to impact children in vulnerable communities including informal and rural communities in accessing education opportunities through designing a sustainable education and childcare model that can be upscaled and adopted in governments in sub-Saharan Africa.
