About Zengani Mbambara

Zengani Mbambara has more than three years of experience in agriculture and climate change. Currently, Zengani is an environmental engineer at the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, where he focuses on formulating environmental management plans, climate-change mitigation measures and conservation farming techniques. Zengani is also the founder and head trainer of Athena Cooperative, which trains local farmers in climate-smart agriculture techniques. In addition, he volunteers at the Youth Alliance for Leadership and Development in Africa and he mentors young climate leaders in the Climate Reality Leadership Corps. Zengani holds a bachelor's degree in environmental engineering with a major in climate-change science. He is driven by the desire to help Zambia achieve its Sustainable Development Goals and improve the livelihoods of rural farmers. After completing the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, Zengani plans to return to Zambia to continue serving the public and non-governmental organizations.
