About Yaye Sene

Yaye Sene has more than six years of experience in water resources management. Currently, Yaye is head of the water department at Natural Resources Consulting Engineers. There, she works on a WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene) project covering more than 10 regions in Senegal. The project focuses on water resources assessment and planning, improvement of water access facilities, climate change awareness, behavior change, water quality management, and support for the market base sanitation activities for rural populations. Yaye is also the founder of Talk2Me, a communication platform with a component that supports young professionals in improving their English skills and in networking. She holds a master's degree in hydrogeology from the Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar. Yaye believes that water is the key to Africa's development. She is committed to development through innovative and resilient water resource management solutions, as well as participatory decision-making to improve health, food access, industries and thus the economy. After completing the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, Yaye plans to use the knowledge, experience and new connections gained to support innovation and improved management in the water sector in Africa and beyond.
