About Jeneba Saidu

Jeneba Saidu has over seven years of experience in the field of Laboratory Medicine and has worked on two major outbreaks (Ebola in 2014 and COVID-19) as a Molecular Scientist. Currently, Jeneba is the Laboratory Lead at the Kingharman Maternal and Child Health Hospital within the Ministry of Health and Sanitation, as well as a part-time lecturer at the Department of Biological Sciences at Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone. Jeneba holds a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences (Immunology) from the University of Westminster in the United Kingdom and a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Biological Sciences from Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone. Through the Leadership in Public Management track of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Jeneba looks forward to optimizing her effectiveness in customer service and gaining knowledge in implementing policies underlying public services. Lastly, upon successful completion of the Fellowship, she plans to focus on making sure that public services are rendered efficiently and are easily accessible to citizens. Jeneba intends to continue to do research while sharing knowledge at universities and research institutions in her country and around the world. Finally, she plans to establish local training groups to undertake national sensitization and research on anti-microbial use.
