Sundus Javed is an Assistant Professor at the COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Pakistan. She received her doctoral training at the Institute of Microbiology, Immunology and hygiene at the Technical University of Munich, Germany funded by the HEC overseas scholarship program. Her research interests include Host-Pathogen Interactions, specifically the molecular dynamics occurring during infection contributing to bacterial pathogenicity. She is working on epidemiological investigation and pathogenic mechanisms of commonly occurring gastroenteric pathogens including certain enterohepatic Helicobacter species. As a Fulbright postdoctoral scholar at the Solnick lab, she is studying regulation of Helicobacter pylori T4SS function by cagY.
