About Ar’slan Garryyev

Ar’slan Garryyev is passionate about clean energy, climate change and waste management. He has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Dokuz Eylul University, focusing on energy technology. He spent eight years of his early career working in the oil and gas sector of Turkmenistan.
After receiving his master’s degree in oil and gas management from Coventry University, Mr. Garryyev joined the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, managing energy and economic projects in Turkmenistan.
For the past six years, Mr. Garryyev has been working as Head of Trade and Investment at the Department for Business and Trade. In this role, he is promoting clean energy transition and emissions reduction in Turkmenistan.
As a 2023-24 Humphrey Fellow, Mr. Garryyev’s professional and research interests include affordable clean energy, emissions reduction and waste recycling themes.
