Head of Fish Processing Section for the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries in Morocco
Dr. El Belkacemi received his degree in Agricultural Engineering from the Institut Agronomique et Vétérinaire Hassan II in 1988. In 1998 he was designated national officer in charge of an FAO project focusing on fish loss assessment. He completed his Ph. D in 2006 on the “Implementation of HACCP in the Moroccan Fishery Supply Chain” at the University of Lincoln, UK. As a Humphrey Fellow, Dr. El Belkacemi hopes to learn how to minimize postharvest food losses through controlling pathological, physiological and physical hazards.
