Mr. Nguessan holds a Master of Science degree in Geoscience from Ohio University, where he majored in Geophysics and Seismic Data Processing. He a holds an engineering degree from ENSTP (Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Travaux Publiques), Côte d’Ivoire. He has worked over 15 years for Sodemi (Société pour le Développement Minier de la Côte d’Ivoire) as a geophysicist and data processing manager. As Database and LAN Manager during the past eight years, he has been in charge of the Geo Information Management Systems Project to collect, process, organize, and manage mining and geoscience data. He formerly held a position as a lecturer at ESMG (Ecole Supérieure des Mines et de la Géologie). Mr. Nguessan would like to use his Humphrey year to update his knowledge of geoscience data collection, storage and handling techniques for the implementation of a Geo Information Database Management System, and to make data available on the world wide web. He hopes to contribute to the management of sustainable natural resources in Côte d’Ivoire and in the subregion.
