Mr. Amoyaw-Osei has a lead responsibility to ensure that new development actions comply with Environmental Assessment Procedures and Regulations. His role as Head of Department includes: facilitating satisfactory conduct of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), reviewing EIA reports and issuing environmental approvals, and building capacity in EIA within and outside Ghana. His interests during the Humphrey year are: to explore how EIA and Planning Procedures can be streamlined, with corresponding institutional and legislative frameworks to facilitate a mainstreamed EIA administration in Ghana, and also, for guidance to convert his accumulated EIA materials into a published book. Mr. Amoyaw-Osei holds a Master's degree in Environmental Science from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland.
