Water Resources Management
Mr. Navid Ghajarnia is a water resources engineer with a PhD in Water Resources Management from the Natural Resources and Agricultural College of the University of Tehran, Iran. He has been working in the field of water resources engineering since 2009 for several consulting engineer companies. His major field of study and work covers different aspects of water resources engineering and management including: hydrometeorology, urban water supply, water distribution networks, water quality and field sampling, treated water reuse, artificial recharge, and unconventional water utilization.
In 2007, Mr. Ghajarnia achieved 1st rank in the nationwide Iranian graduate school (MSc.) entrance exam of water resources engineering. Mr. Ghajarnia has also published more than 10 scientific papers in international and local journals/conferences and has played a vital role in writing two water resource books for Springer Press and the University of Tehran Press.
During his fellowship year with the Humphrey Program, Mr. Ghajarnia will focus on the application of remote sensing information in hydrometeorology. He also aims to improve his knowledge of the role of political and economic processes in the application of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) solutions, which is a critical but missing piece of the current water puzzle in Iran.
