Ms. Turner holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Botany and a post-graduate diploma in Conservation and Utilization of Plant Genetic Resources. She has 10 years teaching experience at the secondary level, 14 years experience in herbarium work, and 6 years experience managing the Beekeeping Section and working with beekeeping farmers. Ms. Turner is an active member of the Botswana National Biodiversity Authority, whose role is to advise the Botswana government on issues related to the environment at a national level, and to make recommendations on policies for the ratification of international conventions. Additionally, Ms. Turner is a long-standing member of the International Council of Museums. She currently sits on the Presidential Poverty Eradication Committee, which is charged with improving rural community livelihoods.
