Christian Bakole Mukulu is an energy economist. Supported by World Bank funds, he serves as a senior expert and consultant in charge of tariff and economic affairs at the Democratic Republic of the Congo's Energy Regulatory Authority. Bakole holds a master's degree in energy science and policy, with a focus on policymaking and development of energy initiatives. He completed an academic internship at the Korea Energy Agency. He participated in the International Energy Storage System Exposition, the 2018 Korea Energy Transition, and conferences on the role of energy in the industrial development of developing countries and the challenge and opportunity of fuel cell technologies against global warming. Bakole is also an activist promoting energy saving. He currently promotes energy efficiency in his community, starting at the household level. He teaches consumers energy-saving techniques that promote more responsible use of energy and aspires to light all his country efficiently and preserve resources. After completing the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, he plans to pursue his commitment to mentoring energy consumers on the role they can play in climate regulation through efficient use.
