About Ahmed Abdalgader
Ahmed Abdalgader has a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Khartoum, Sudan, and a master's degree in Renewable Energy Technology from University of Khartoum. He is a certified energy manager from the Association of Energy Engineers.
Mr. Abdalgader has more than 15 years of experience in the electricity sector, including 10 years of experience in climate change and renewable energy projects development. He has worked as Sudan National Focal Point in International Solar Alliance since March 2018, and he is currently the director of renewable energy technology for Sudanese Electricity Holding Company.
In addition, Mr. Abdalgader has extensive experience providing consultancy services in the field of energy and climate change for entities such as African Development Bank, African Enterprise Challenge Fund, MRC Group Consultants and Transaction Advisers, and (HEAT) GmbH Habitat, Energy, Application & Technology based in Germany
As a Humphrey Fellow at UC Davis, Mr. Abdalgader plans to enhance his knowledge of energy policy and climate change. His professional and research interests also include energy policy and regulation to catalyze the private sector to engage in the power industry.
