    Topic: Ambassadors and other diplomats from Fellows' countries were invited to attend for an evening celebrating the legacy of the Humphrey Fellowship Program.

  • Abdi Ahmed Mohamed led a graduate case study for the "International Agriculture Development 200" course covering a past project he administered in Somalia. He emphasized the need for participatory community action and acknowledging the human resources that exist even in resource-scarce communities, November 28, 2017.
  • Xin Liu interviewed for Al Gore's 24 Hours of Climate Reality, featured in the eleventh hour focused on China, December 4-5, 2017.

Volunteer/ Community Service Activities

  • Helped with clean-up activities at Putah Creek Clean-Up, September 16, 2017
  • Participated in a solar install activity with GRID Alternatives, September 18-19, 2017
  • Cooked for local citizens in need with Davis Community Meals, November 25, 2017
  • Worked with Asociación Ecuatoriana de California to organize and serve food for its annual fundraising dinner. Funds raised will be invested in projects to improve the living conditions of vulnerable groups in Ecuador and Latin America, December 2, 2017
