Mr. Somma’s major area of research and activity is the ecological analysis of landscape to support a participative process of sustainable, regional development, and nature conservation. He focuses on the Yungas Region, the highest biodiversity area of Argentina. In addition to his work on the Yungas research/conservation project, he is interested in sustainable ecological networks in setting reserves, buffer zones and connecting zone. He also works on integrating rural development areas in a regional context, environmental studies, physical planning and nature conservation, and parks.
