As a researcher in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Ms. Meela is involved in helping achieve the Tanzania government's goals of raising agricultural productivity, improving food security, and maintaining environmental protection.  Ms. Meela's interest is agricultural development with particular emphasis in sustainable agriculture, organic vegetable production (science and practice), and postharvest handling and postharvest technology of vegetable crops.
