Dr. Kyaw is currently responsible for training demonstrations for rice production technologies and post harvest technology aimed at reducing losses to improve the quality of rice. He collaborates with the International Rice Research Institute and Nong Lam University of Vietnam, conducting research on the development of low cost, simple design flat bed paddy dryers for the farmers and rice millers, helping to solve crop losses during harvesting in the wet season. During his Humphrey year he will study project management, post harvest technology, extension strategies and international marketing of rice to help enable Myanmar to regain its status as a major rice exporting country.
