Aggies Addressing Global Challenges: Introducing UN Sustainable Development Goals

Join Global Affairs in a discussion on how members of the UC Davis community are addressing global challenges, and how you as a student can find opportunities and get involved. This event will include Aggie panelists speaking about their experiences engaging with global challenges.

Global Conversations: Promoting Women’s Resilience in Africa’s Arid Regions in the Age of COVID-19

Global Affairs' Global Conversations Series – Empowering women provides the greatest return on investment for helping families and communities achieve a future free from poverty and food insecurity, particularly in areas that face a constant risk of disaster like severe drought. In arid northern Kenya, where families rely primarily on livestock for their livelihoods, the UC Davis-based MRR Innovation Lab is testing a pairing of development programs that has the potential to radically change poverty dynamics in these communities and it starts with investing in women-owned businesses and insurance to ensure they can hold onto their gains in the age of COVID-19.

In celebration of International Education Week, Services for International Students and Scholars and Global Affairs invites you to attend a discussion panel: Communication with Impact. Please join us for an engaging forum on how communication, media, and technology affect behavior, health, and well-being. Three UC Davis international scholars from the Department of Communication and the Department of Computer Science will talk about their research in this field and how their interdisciplinary work links innovative approaches in communication and technology to improve public health outcomes, lead to problem-solving and value creation, and increase understanding of information selection, and effects on key democratic attitudes and behaviors.
