CITRIS Seed Funding Offers Up to $60K for Multicampus Research for Social Good

Proposal Deadline: October 14, 2023
Investigators from UC Berkeley, UC Davis, UC Davis Health, UC Merced and UC Santa Cruz are invited to submit proposals for projects in aviation, sustainability and climate resilience, digital health, AI and robotics, and semiconductors and systems.

One Health Workforce Academies Summer Session

One Health Workforce Academies is pleased to announce the next session of courses: Fundamentals of One Health, One Health in the World, and Outbreak Investigation and Response. Enrollment will be available until September 30. All three courses are offered asynchronously and may be completed at your own pace during the session. There is no tuition to enroll.

Democracy Under Siege: Examining Contemporary Challenges in the Americas

Global Affairs is proud to co-sponsor this event. Many forces are active in the world today that are undermining democracies across the globe. Senator José Miguel Insulza, former Chilean Minister of Foreign Affairs, Interior and Secretary of the President, and Secretary General at Organization of American States will discuss democracies in the Americas and their present challenges as reflected in the decline of the rule of law, ascendency of populism, weakening of the judiciary, and the loss of checks and balances, among others. Artist Talk: Katya Grokhovsky

October 12, 4:30 – 6:30 p.m., Manetti Shrem Museum of Art
Global Affairs is proud to co-sponsor this event. Katya Grokhovsky is a Ukrainian born, New York City-based multidisciplinary visual artist. Her work explores cultural identity, labor, body, history and the self in installation, sculpture, painting, drawing, fiber, video, and performance. Grokhovsky is a recipient of numerous awards and fellowships.

California Germany Agrivoltaics Conference

The first California Germany Agrivoltaics Conference will bring together corporates, policy-makers, researchers, developers, and farmers to explore how agrivoltaics can contribute to both resilience and sustainability. Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to attend. Register to attend. 

Weekly French Language Conversation Group 

Wednesdays, 12 – 1 p.m., 3130 International Center
If you’re looking for a group to share your love of the French language, a group of campus and community members meet every Wednesday to speak French together to maintain French language practice or reduce fear of speaking. No preparation required, no homework, no stress, just a friendly group of French language learners and native speakers who want to speak in French.
