Teaching for Global Learning Program

The Global Affairs Teaching for Global Learning Program helps faculty design courses that prepare students to navigate an interconnected world. Faculty will receive tools for developing global learning curricula, incorporating diverse perspectives and enhancing student engagement. Participants will receive an honorarium and access to a grant opportunity. Limited spots are available.

2025 ACUNS-UN Workshop: Emerging Technologies and 21st Century Governance Challenges

The ACUNS-UN Workshop will bring together a small group of UN staff and early career researchers from other institutions to explore emerging technologies’ role in 21st-century governance. Topics include AI, ethics, and technology's impact on peace, security and development.

Transatlantic Research Partnership

The Transatlantic Research Partnership offers a two-year grant for collaborative U.S.-France research projects addressing UN Sustainable Development Goals. It supports mobility, interdisciplinary research and early-career scholars. Eligible applicants are Ph.D. holders with up to eight years of research experience. Grants provide up to $20,000.

UC Alianza MX Strategic Research Projects

The University of California Alianza MX provides up to two years of seed funding for strategic research projects that deepen the understanding of common challenges shared by the U.S. and Mexico and propose innovative solutions. The proposal requires a UC principal investigator, collaborators from another UC campus and a Mexican partner institution. Up to $200,000 in funding is available.

International Contest for Minority Artists

The 2025 International Contest for Minority Artists explores the intersection of belonging, place and loss, focusing on minority rights, environmental justice and climate change. Artists are invited to submit work addressing these themes, highlighting minority experiences of cultural loss, environmental racism and resilience.

UC Alianza MX Postdoctoral Research Fellowship

The University of California Alianza MX is offering postdoctoral fellowships for 2025 to foster U.S.-Mexico research collaboration. The program provides up to five fellowships for recent Ph.D. graduates to conduct research at UC campuses.

U21 Collaborative Seed Fund 2025

The U21 Collaborative Seed Fund 2025 invites proposals in three areas: Communities of Practice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, and Global Education Projects. Funding of $5,000 or $10,000 is available for cross-institutional collaborations involving at least three U21 institutions.

NSF ANR Chemistry Lead Agency Funding Opportunity on Sustainable Chemistry

Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program

The Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program offers over 400 awards in more than 135 countries for U.S. citizens to teach, conduct research and carry out professional projects around the world. The 2026-27 Fulbright U.S. Scholar Competition opens on February 18, 2025.

Fulbright Amazonia II: Unique Opportunity for Researchers

The Fulbright Commission and CAPES are accepting applications for Co-Lead Scholars for Fulbright Amazonia II. One scholar from Brazil and one from the U.S. will lead multidisciplinary research on the Amazon region, with up to $90,000 in funding.

2025 Fulbright US-UK Global Challenges Teaching Awards

The Fulbright US-UK Global Challenges Teaching Awards, supported by the American Association of Colleges and Universities, enable U.S. and United Kingdom faculty pairs to collaborate on virtual exchange and collaborative online international learning (VE/COIL) partnerships addressing global challenges like climate action, health inequality and peace. The 2025-26 Institute on VE/COIL runs from August 2025 to May 2026.

Visual Journals 2010–2024 is a celebration of the UC Davis Study Abroad program Design in Europe. Visual Journals dispenses with traditional travel text in favor of sketches, hand lettering, photographs, magazine cutouts and printed ephemera.

Ignite Talks with UC Davis Humphrey Fellows

The 2024-25 UC Davis Humphrey Fellows will give dynamic three- to five-minute TED Talk-styled presentations to showcase their work and lives in their home countries and express their thoughts on important issues. Register to attend.

Announcements

New Executive Order Impacting Gender X Passports

On January 20, the President issued an executive orderDefending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth, to the Federal Government, specifically addressing Gender X passports. The U.S. Department of State has already removed some web pages that addressed Gender X, and we can likely expect more changes. As of today, the PDF passport application form has not changed, and X is still shown as an option.
