Call for Proposals: 2025-2026 DHI Network Collaboration Fellowships
The UC Davis Humanities Institute is accepting proposals for the 2025-26 Network Collaboration Fellowships, offering up to $5,000 for faculty to collaborate with external colleagues. Proposals must include a narrative, CV, budget and optional creative materials.

Apply for the UCEAP Academic Integration Grant Program
Adding study abroad to the college experience prepares undergraduate students to thrive in increasingly global workplaces. A $3,000 Academic Integration grant funds efforts by faculty and staff to better integrate study abroad into curricula and remove academic barriers to international education for undergraduate students. CITRIS Core Seed Funding

Fellowships for Advanced Social Science Research on Japan

Awards of up to $60,000 foster innovative, interdisciplinary research, with outputs like articles, books or digital resources.

Academics Without Borders USA

Mapping Production of Knowledge on Women and Gender in the Arab Region
Mapping the Production of Knowledge (MPK) on Women and Gender in the Arab Region is delighted to announce the launching of the MPK Database. The MPK database lists approximately 20,000 academic references on women and gender in the Arab region, published from 1970-2022.

Eight Elected as AAAS Fellows
Eight faculty from UC Davis are among 471 scientists, engineers and innovators newly elected as fellows of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, including Dario Cantù, executive director of the UC Davis Chile Life Sciences Innovation Center.

Developing Future Food and Health Leaders
UC Davis’ Innovation Institute for Food and Health, UC Investments and Denmark’s Novo Nordisk Foundation announced a unique collaboration to develop international leaders in food and planetary health.
Fulbright
Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program
The Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program offers over 400 awards in more than 135 countries for U.S. citizens to teach, conduct research and carry out professional projects around the world. The 2026-27 Fulbright U.S. Scholar Competition is now open.

SISS Spring Quarter Town Hall
April 11, 2025, 3:30 p.m., Zoom
SISS will conduct a spring quarter town hall to update the UC Davis international student and scholar community about ongoing changes to the federal immigration landscape. You can submit questions in advance. This town hall is intended for UC Davis international students and scholars and their dependent family members. Interested UC Davis staff and faculty are also welcome to attend. Registration is required.

Visual Journals 2010–2024 celebrates the UC Davis Study Abroad program Design in Europe. Visual Journals dispenses with traditional travel text in favor of sketches, hand lettering, photographs, magazine cutouts and printed ephemera.

Environmental Justice in Nepal: Origins, Struggles and Prospects

Join Professor Jonathan London for a presentation about his recent co-edited book, "Environmental Justice in Nepal: Origins, Struggles and Prospects." London will describe the engaged scholarship process for developing the book with the Nepalese scholars and activists, present the overview chapter and screen recorded videos of two of the book authors.

New Executive Order Impacting Gender X Passports (February 27, 2025 update)
On January 20, the President issued an executive order, Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth, to the Federal Government, specifically addressing Gender X passports. As of today, the PDF passport application form has not changed, and X is still shown as an option. We recommend that future travelers applying for a passport now select M or F as the U.S. Department of State removed reference to X on their website travel.state.gov. Additionally, current passport documents no longer allow the selection of Gender X.
REAL ID Act Enforcement Starts May 7, 2025
All U.S. travelers should be aware that the REAL ID Act is being enforced starting May 7, 2025. Travelers 18 and over will need a REAL ID-compliant license or another acceptable ID (Passport, etc.) to board commercial domestic flights and access federal facilities.
