Vice Provost and Dean Welcome

regulska-pictureWelcome!

Whether you are a student, visiting scholar, faculty, staff member, alums, partner or supporter of our diverse and global University of California, Davis, community, we are proud to collaborate with you in pursuit of our Global Affairs mission to inspire global curiosity, understanding, and engagement.

We welcome the world to UC Davis, including our nearly 10,000 international students and scholars from 140 countries, and we connect our UC Davis community with the world. We belong to regional and global networks and associations and maintain global partnerships across 45 countries, all of which connect you with tremendous academic, research, and professional opportunities.

With each new academic year, it is exciting to see new prospects for us to collaborate across boundaries in pursuit of solutions for global challenges. Global Affairs is here to help—from providing funding and awards for faculty to supporting hundreds of global learning opportunities for students to providing services for our international community to offering robust travel security resources, and more. We are particularly enthusiastic about these priorities:

  • Global Education for All is our campus goal to provide 100% of our undergraduate, graduate, and professional students with global learning opportunities that change their lives and our world. Our Global Learning Hub is a network where every UC Davis student can find global learning opportunities on campus, in the region, and worldwide.
  • As a part of UC Davis’ strong commitment to solving global challenges, we are engaging with the UN Sustainable Development Goals or SDGs. Partnering closely with the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and Office of Sustainability, we have several initiatives underway, including internships for students and grants for faculty, among other ongoing programs.

I’m very proud of our collective campus efforts around being a global university. In 2020, UC Davis was named as the only university to earn the Platinum Institutional Award for Global Learning, Research and Engagement from the Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities and was one of four universities to earn the Senator Paul Simon Award for Comprehensive Campus Internationalization from NAFSA. In 2020 and 2021, UC Davis tied for first among universities in the nation for its inclusiveness, diversity and internationalization in the annual QS USA University Rankings.

As you browse our website, I hope you discover programs, services, resources and opportunities that support you as you take your global pursuits to the next level!

Sincerely,

Joanna Regulska
